Immunizations

Protecting ourselves, protecting each other
Note: Children must be 10+ years old to receive vaccination. Evening hours subject to staff availability.

Immunizations, also known as vaccinations, are a cornerstone of modern medicine. They play a vital role in protecting individuals and communities from serious, and sometimes life-threatening, infectious diseases.

We stock the following immunizations:

  • Tetanus/whooping cough/diphtheria

  • Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV)

  • Pneumonia

  • COVID-19

  • Flu shots

  • Shingles

No appointment is required and we take most major insurances - simply arrive with your insurance card and ID. If you're currently feeling ill, please first call and speak with a pharmacist to best determine when would be suitable for you to come in.

Vaccines work by introducing a weakened or inactive form of a virus or bacteria into the body. This triggers immune system defenses, effectively creating a shield of protection. Most vaccines are administered through injections, although some can be given nasally. While some mild side effects like soreness at the injection site are possible, these are usually temporary and manageable.

Getting immunized offers numerous benefits throughout your life, both in childhood and as adults. Regular vaccinations help prevent diseases like tetanus, diphtheria, COVID-19, respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), and influenza. These immunizations not only protect you but also contribute to herd immunity, a concept where a high vaccination rate within a community indirectly protects those who are unable to be vaccinated due to medical reasons.

By choosing to get immunized, you're not just protecting yourself, you're contributing to a healthier world for everyone. With readily available vaccines and a commitment to immunization programs, we can significantly reduce the spread of infectious diseases and create a safer environment for future generations.
